CAST
ALUMINIUM INLET MANIFOLD
|
BELT DRIVEN SUPERCHARGER |
|
|
A brand new design of supercharger. Belt driven, but avoiding the traditional heavy power losses. Very lightweight and compact, installed within the existing space in front of the engine without compromising luggage space. Low in maintenance, requiring no specialist servicing, and lubricated by oil direct from the engine. Low maintenance Poly-vee drive belt, automatically adjusted via integral tensioner. | Low-blow boost pressure (9psi) is directed into a brand new cast aluminium inlet manifold. This houses an efficient, but very compact charge cooler to prevent increased engine bay temperature. A small reduction in engine compression ratio, achieved by shortened the connecting rods, is the only required engine modification. |
Supplementary fuel, supplied via two injectors, is digitally controlled using an independent ECU and mapped for maximum power and reliability. No changes to the existing MEMS software, or anti-theft system, allows the standard Lotus fault finding procedure to be performed. The unmodified exhaust system and catalytic converter is retained, unless otherwise requested. | Centrifugal compressor rotating at up to 110,000
rev/min. Epicyclical traction drive system driven from crankshaft via poly-vee
belt. Small lightweight aluminium body and pulley. Dimensions 160 x 140mm.
Weight 4.8kg.
